Sightseeing in My City

I live in Cagayan de Oro City, the capital of the Province of Misamis Oriental, Philippines. This place has evolved from being a quiet and undeveloped city to one that is now booming with more people and more commercial establishments. I believe that the present scenario is a good thing because it brings many new malls, restaurants, parks, grocery stores, and the like.

Sightseeing in my city is fun not only because of the modern additions, but also because of the beaches, rivers, mountains, and caves. Although the beaches here can be dirty due to some people's careless garbage-throwing, the waters still possess nature's wonders. The rivers, on the other hand, are now more fun to check on because they have become excellent spots for whitewater rafting. Concurrently, the mountains are a sight to behold since they still have the attractive green color (which is soothing to the eyes) from afar. This green hue is actually the forests that are full of trees and plants. Lastly, the caves have been preserved somehow by the local government in such a way that their prehistoric beauty is still visible.

Cagayan de Oro City is a just small place, but it has a big potential to become one of this country's top places to visit. --ARV

Tokyo Tokyo Comes to Cagayan de Oro

Kagay-anons, mark the date November 29, 2012! This is when Tokyo Tokyo, the No.1 Japanese fast food chain in the Philippines, will open its 1st branch in the City of Golden Friendship, most particularly in the 2nd floor of Limketkai Mall.

Already in the country for twenty-seven years, with its initial branch at the Quad Park in Makati City, Tokyo Tokyo has evolved to be known for its affordable and quality Japanese food. Its signature dishes such as Pork Tonkatsu, Prawn Tempura, Beef Misono, as well as the all-time favorites, Red Iced Tea and Rice-All-You-Can-Eat, will surely catch the attention of Kagay-anons.

Moreover, there are additionals to its menu, the Sumo Meal and the Bento Meal! The Sumo Meal, named after Japan’s iconic sumo wrestler, is a “big meal which has many of Tokyo Tokyo’s best sellers: Pork Tonkatsu, Prawn Tempura, Red Iced Tea and Rice-All-You-Can-Eat, perfect for two.” Meanwhile, the Bento Meal is a complete meal in a box, with a fully customizable content. Any customer can select “among nine Tokyo Tokyo Bestseller Meals combined with Miso Soup, vegetables and dessert in one meal with Red Iced Tea and Rice-All-You-Can-Eat.”

Tokyo Tokyo’s Marketing Manager Joan Optina says, “We are excited to bring our signature Japanese dishes to Cagayan De Oro and we look forward to serving the region with dishes that are enjoyed by millions of Filipinos. The opening of the CDO branch is something we’re all very excited about because it will be the first Tokyo Tokyo in the Northern Mindanao Region.”

On its opening day, there will be exciting giveaways to the first 100 customers.
