When Shadows Dance by David Chiong

Daylight creeps in softly –
a lover’s caress
brushing over delicate skin
that breaks if held too tight.
The fading shadows linger –
swaying in a lovers’ dance,
reverberating ghostly echoes
of a time well-spent
that crashed suddenly
                                                      to a tragic end.
